The psychology of escorts

I should discuss the general psychological makeup of escorts, independent ones in particular. Most I have met are conscientious, as they put in a lot of effort into their appearance. They value their own time as well as the client’s. They typically regard themselves highly and therefore does not depend on their clients’ self image to boost their own.

Second aspect is that they generally have a history of childhood exposure to sex, whether through sexual abuse or being raised in an environment where prostitution was rampant. The ones who have been abused are more likely to be anxious about meeting new clients, as well as settings stricter boundaries between themselves and the client. Whereas those who grew up around prostitution are open to a variety of sexual techniques, ranging from role play to BDSM to group sex.

They are also more open to new experiences. Most have expressed interest in indulging in fantasy role plays with the ‘perfect’ partner. No matter how much boundaries they set, they all seem to display an underlying desire to be degraded to the maximum degree. This is evident in their non-verbal cues, as it is in their ‘dirty talk’ during foreplay. Outside of their occupation, most are well travelled (at least the ones older than 25 and have some disposable income). They can converse about a wide range of subjects, from politics to sports, from religion to superstition, and last but not least why they got into and enjoy their line of work.

The potential negative personality trait of most escorts is heightened Machiavellianism, which is the tendency to manipulate others for self gain. On the surface escorts give off an innocent atmosphere, which temporarily attracts the attention of a client. Once the client has ‘fallen’ for her, she will become more and more greedy with each meeting, asking for more donations each time. My personal experience however, is that they are modest and will not prioritize financial gain over professional reputation.

Another common behavioural trait is the increased likelihood of substance use. I hypothesize that this is because of two main reasons. The first being the pleasure seeking tendency of escorts. To them anything that brings them a feeling of euphoria is sought after. If they are unable to pull in a sizable number of clients they might resort to getting the high from agents such as marijuana, alcohol, or even heroin. The second reason is that many clients are hooked on drugs themselves and may be discouraged from using them at home. The escort is the perfect person to engage in this activity as it ensures both sexual release and neurobiological satisfaction.

However, the most distinctive trait, in my opinion, is that they are non-judgmental. It simply does not matter to them if you are rich or poor, strong or skinny, a high school dropout or a PhD graduate. As long as the client abides by the rules, respects their privacy, and pay up, the experience will be a sexy one.
